
As a leader in the engineering and surveying professions, NCEES is committed to attracting the best and brightest to these professions and communicating the benefits and responsibilities of licensure—laying the foundation for a strong future. The organization concentrates on promoting careers in engineering and surveying to K–12 students, promoting the career benefits of licensure to college students and young professionals, and promoting understanding of the professions and safeguards to the health, safety, and welfare to the public at large.
Speaker’s Kits
With the Speaker’s Kit, NCEES supports P.E. and P.S. speakers who are giving presentations. Each kit includes a Speaker’s Guide, a PowerPoint presentation that can be modified by discipline, a script, and videos.
National Outreach
NCEES supports many national outreach initiatives, including Engineers Without Borders USA, DiscoverE Engineers Week, the Future City Competition, New Faces of Engineering—College Edition, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers.
In addition, staff from NCEES travels to conferences, competitions, and more to promote the organization and its mission.
Engineering Education Award
The NCEES Engineering Education Award recognizes college engineering programs for engaging their students in collaborative projects with licensed professional engineers. It was established to promote understanding of the value of licensure and to encourage partnerships between the engineering profession and education. There is one grand prize of $25,000 and seven smaller awards of $10,000 each.
Surveying Education Award
The Surveying Education Award recognizes surveying/geomatics programs that have a broad and robust curriculum and best reflect NCEES’ mission to advance licensure for surveyors to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the public. There is one grand prize of $25,000, up to three prizes of $15,000, and up to three prizes of $10,000. Use of the awarded funds is to further the surveying/geomatics programs.
